Suzanne Murray, MA, BCBA, LBABehavior Analyst

Suzanne is a licensed and board-certified behavior analyst who has an extensive background in helping children and families with autism and related diagnoses to set and achieve their goals. With over 12 years in the field of ABA, Suzanne has spent much of her career working in independent ABA schools and is adept at helping families advocate for their children’s educational needs. In addition to being a behavior analyst, Suzanne is also a certified teacher of special education and general education.

Suzanne earned a MA in Applied Behavior Analysis from Teachers College at Columbia University. She has worked in numerous settings including a world-renown residential school for children with autism, early intervention settings, an inclusive public-school classroom, a large private ABA school in Manhattan, and most recently as the Clinical Director of an ABA school in the greater Seattle area. With a strong foundation in behavior analysis, Suzanne has also spent significant time working alongside speech and occupational therapists and believes strongly in collaborating to achieve a transdisciplinary approach.

Though ABA is typically a prescribed therapy for children with autism, Suzanne believes in the holistic power of behavior analysis to help any individual or family identify their needs, create meaningful goals, and learn actionable methods to achieve those goals. Through ABA therapy, individuals can decrease challenging behaviors by better understanding their function and through learning to engage in adaptive alternatives. Among many methods, ABA therapy typically includes direct therapy/instruction with the child and family/caregiver coaching. Suzanne has helped children and families to address a wide variety of issues including challenging behaviors, social skills instruction, toilet training, bedtime routines, selective eating, tantrum-type behavior, and generalizing skills across school and home. Suzanne also has extensive training in the application of behavior analysis to education including teacher training, teaching self-management skills, and analyzing and addressing special academic needs.
