Dr. Frank is a licensed and board-certified behavior analyst – doctoral level. She joined ABCD, PLLC in March of 2020 after providing clinical supervision at a Seattle-area school for children with Autism. She was responsible for overseeing the school’s expansion to serve children of varying needs, ranging from early intervention services to 1:1 clinical support and small/whole-group academic instruction.
Dr. Frank received her M.A. and Ph.D. from Teachers College – Columbia University in New York. While there, she worked as a classroom teacher and behavior analyst supervisor at an internationally recognized behavior analytic preschool for children with and without disabilities. The school serves as a research and demonstration center for “state-of-the-science” instruction and curriculum-based assessment. More can be read about the Comprehensive Application of Behavior Analysis to Schooling (CABAS®) model of instruction by visiting www.cabasschools.org.
A native to Seattle, Dr. Frank was eager to return to the Pacific Northwest to begin her applied behavior analysis (ABA) practice with area families. ABA applies the scientific understanding of how behavior works to real situations, with the goal of increasing behaviors that are helpful and decreasing/replacing behaviors that impede progress toward socially significant goals. Oftentimes ABA is prescribed as a therapy for individuals diagnosed with autism, but it is beneficial for any family regardless of diagnosis. Dr. Frank has extensive experience with both 1:1 therapy for children with autism and related behavioral needs and parental/family coaching. She specializes in providing instruction to families to further their child’s progress toward linguistic and behavioral goals. She has co-authored articles on toilet training and listener responding, and she completed her dissertation on techniques for accelerating the expansion of verbal behavior repertoires for young children.
