Brian Neville, Ph.D.Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Neville is a clinical psychologist who joined ABCD in 2013.  He is licensed in the state of Washington and is authorized to practice telepsychology in the states, districts, and territories that are part of PSYPACT (see www.psypact.org).  He began his own private practice in 2001, prior to which he worked at the UW Center on Human Development and Disability, providing clinical services and conducting research.

Dr. Neville works with a variety of clients, but has a particular interest in Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders. He has a long-standing interest in lifespan human development and enjoys the challenge of adapting treatment strategies to work with children, adolescents, and adults. When working with children, parents are always involved with the treatment process.

His approach to psychotherapy is cognitive-behavioral, while integrating mindfulness approaches and drawing from the latest knowledge in neuroscience. He is trained in the use of Exposure and Response Prevention with OCD and often uses exposure strategies to work with phobias. He also has equipment to provide virtual reality exposure therapy for people with some specific phobias (including fear of flying). With some clients he also uses biofeedback and neurofeedback to help clients learn to self-regulate, which is often helpful to improve anxiety, attention, and pain. All of these approaches involve learning to become aware of your patterns of thinking, feeling and interacting, and finding alternatives to these patterns which allow new learning.

PLEASE NOTE: Although a provider may be listed with an insurance panel this does not mean that his or her services are covered under your particular plan. We strongly recommend that you check your insurance plan to see if services by a specific provider are covered, what co-payments are involved, and whether or not authorization for services must be obtained prior to your first appointment.

ABCD will submit claims to your insurance company and accept direct payment. However, in the event that your claim is denied, our office does not accept responsibility for negotiating with your insurance company for the denied claim. This would be your responsibility. Insured clients are expected to keep their account current even if a denial is being negotiated and their insurance company has not reimbursed them.
